WIN |
11.92 |
na |
Windstream Corporation (WIN)
WIN - Look, I love a good
dividend!... This is not like
some tech stock like a
SanDisk Corp. (SNDK)
or a
Texas Instruments (TXN),
that doesn't give you any money
in return while you're waiting
for good things to happen...
WIN's got good management, it's
got a good dividend... I'm a
buyer of the telco with great
dividends including
Centurytel Inc. (CTL),
I know the papers are filled
with negative views about T... I
like that stock between $30 and
$32... And I like Verizon too.

OSK |
18.21 |
na |
Oshkosh Truck Corp. (OSK)
OSK - Frankly, that was such
a bad quarter, I have to believe
that at the end of this year we
can
pull the trigger with
tax law selling... But not until
then... I've got to see a couple
of good quarters from these
guys... That was brutal.
|
|
 |
MMM |
68.73 |
na |
3M Co. (MMM)
MMM - I have to... This is
one I'm astonished at, okay?...
This stock can not get its
footing, it's down 30 straight
points... It reminds me of
Honeywell
(HON)
when it can't get its footing...
I know we're in a bear market, I
know it's ugly... Why do I feel
you should
pull the trigger on
MMM?... I think if you went to
buy 100 shares... You buy 25
here, buy 25 at $65, and buy
down when it gets to around $60
because this is a great American
company that is being completely
thrown away as if there will
never be a recovery again... As
is
Honeywell, as is
United Technologies
(UTX),
as is
Emerson Electric (EMR),
as is
Parker Hannifin (PH),
as is
Eaton Corp. (ETN)...
That's ridiculous... These are
great American companies, they
will come back... They are not
all going to be junk... They're
well run, they have great
balance sheets, they've got good
dividends, and they could
increase them all.
|
|
 |
NXY |
34.09 |
na |
NEXEN INC (NXY)
NXY - Oh man, NXY... They
decided to throw out every
natural gas stock... I reiterate
that this has been a major
overreaction to natural gas on
way down... Today was day one of
the rally... We will be
careful... I am not going to be
a hog next time if we move up...
I know that bulls make money,
bears make money and hogs get
slaughtered... And I did not
show enough discipline when I
got back on the natural gas
story after hopping off it... As
they go up this time we will
take some profits, but not down
here, the stocks are too cheap.
|
|
 |
AAPL |
166.29 |
na |
Apple (AAPL)
AAPL - No, no, no, no... I
said that when AAPL went up, we
had to sell AAPL... I am
reiterating that even though
they look like they did a decent
quarter, I am not a buyer of
AAPL... If you followed the plan
when it got from $120 to $180 we
took off our stock, decided that
all you are going to do is play
with the house's money... That's
the story... Tech is weak, I've
been saying that, not to buy
tech...
Texas Instruments (TXN)
is bad,
SanDisk Corp. (SNDK)
after the close is bad... I am
not a buyer of tech... I own
almost no tech at all for
my charitable trust, and I am not
enticed to buy any more tech
until the company is down much
more.

OTTR |
45.37 |
na |
Otter Tail Corp. (OTTR)
OTTR - All right, well OTTR
is an amazing stock, why?...
Because it's wind... By the way,
Timken Co. (TKR),
the ball bearing company, had
reported much better than
expected quarter... Why is
that?... Wind... I think wind is
going to be a major feature in
Boone Pickens' program... Wind
is really starting to roll out
in Wyoming... It's rolling out
in North Dakota, South Dakota,
and that's why was OTTR is up...
Now, because I said I will not
be greedy, because I got greedy
in natural gas, we are now up
huge in OTTR... I think people
should take profits in OTTR...
It was a great investment, but
we're being greedy... Bulls make
money, bears make money, hogs
get slaughtered... Take your
winnings off the table with
OTTR.

 |
Back up the truck -
indicated by Jim, when he
says the stock is so good,
that he would do a
'mon-back' on the stock...
In other words, this is the
sound someone would say to a
truck driver, "Come on
back... " as he is "backing
up the truck" to load up on
his cargo. Translation
for buying stocks:
This recommendation by Jim
indicates that, after you do
your own
homework on the stock,
you should feel comfortable
loading up on it, as it is
in a good position to be
bought at this point. |
|
 |
Stumped. - Of the
2,000+ stocks that Jim
Cramer has in his head, for
which he has an informed
opinion, he sometimes comes
across a caller with a stock
he does not know well enough
to opine on... He then
indicates he is stumped and
will have to come back to
it, after he does some
homework of his own on
the stock. This
usually occurs during the
Lightning Round, when Jim
does not know in advance who
is calling, or what their
stock question is about. |

Definitions of key phrases
used by Jim, known as
"Cramerisms": |
|
 |
Definition: 'Pull the
trigger' is Jim's phrase for making
the decision at that point to trade -
either to 'buy' or
to 'sell' (although he
usually uses the phrase for
buying), as if to say you
should feel comfortable
enough to make the final
decision without looking
back... |
|
 |
Definition: 'Ring
the Register' is Jim's phrase for
selling a stock, and making
it a final sale, that you
should not look back on.
Put it behind you. |
|
 |
Definition: 'Let It Come In' indicates how you
may wait for it to pull back, or have the
stock price come down briefly, as your
chance (after letting it come in) to buy
the rest of your position (i.e., total
number of shares you own in that stock). |
|
 |
Definition: 'backing it up'
or 'doing a 'mon-back' is Jim's
phrase for the metaphor of backing up a
truck to load up on a stock by buying
it. 'Mon-back is short for the
imaginary worker saying, 'Come on
back...' as the truck is backing up to
receive its load... Notice that we use
the little truck icon to indicate where
Jim has mentioned this.
Translation for buying
stocks: This
recommendation by Jim
indicates that, after you do
your own
homework on the stock,
you should feel comfortable
loading up on it, as it is
in a good position to be
bought at this point. |
