POT

184.20

na

Potash (POT)

POT -  I'm nervous.  I'm nervous... I have backed away from that fertilizer group...  I'm not going back on it.  If you haven't sold the fertilizers yet, sell them into this rally.  They're just too darn risky at this point in the cycle... especially if we get McCain as President and he scraps the ethanol mandate, which is what Governor Perry said might happen, when he was on our show the other day...

WTR

17.80

na

Aqua America Inc. (WTR)

WTR -  No, no... we've been down on that stock.  I even mentioned it in Stay Mad For Life... Get Rich...  That is a company that has scalded me... it does not have real growth.  I don't like it.  I like the management, they're nice people, but I'm not buying the stock...

TXT

38.03

na

Textron Inc. (TXT)

TXT -  I am just blown away at how badly this stock acts, and the fact that I like the company very much.  People think that it's got this leasing division that's killing them.  I think that's wrong.  I'm not backing away from TXT... a 52-week low today?...  I think that's ridiculous and, if McCain becomes President, everything that they sell that's in the military is going to go through the roof.  I like TXT right here - buy, buy, buy! - at a 52-week low...

ABT*

58.49

na

Abbott Laboratories (ABT*)

ABT* -  ABT* is dynamite!  They did a restructuring today.  They're saving money.  The stock is great.  It's the best-acting drug stock.  I'm proud that I own it for my charitable trust... and I wish it would come down a little so that I could buy more!  That's my conviction level... buy, buy, buy!  At one point, it was at $57.47...  I was thinking about issuing an alert, saying hey, let's buy some, but I've got a much lower basis...

ZRAN

9.45

na

Zoran Corp. (ZRAN)

ZRAN -  Oh jeez, you had to go spoil the situation, didn't you?...  This is this digital video stuff... it keeps missing the quarter...  I have no faith in this company whatsoever.  If you own it, sell it.

ACAS

21.02

na

American Capital Strategies (ACAS)

ACAS -  This is a lender... this is really important... that's known as a mezzanine lender... they lend to businesses.  Let me tell you... it's got a 20% yield...  Here's why I don't want you to buy it... because somehow this stock has been just a play thing of the bears and the media... You will go maybe a week and there won't be an article, and then you'll pick up the paper and there'll be a negative article about ACAS.  Then you go for another week, nothing... and then another article...  There have never been so many negative articles planted about a stock, in my life, than ACAS.  And I am not going to sit here and recommend it, and then have to defend it against every single article that people put in the papers.  I can't stand it.

JASO

17.84

na

JA Solar (JASO)

JASO -  No, man... you like risk!  I like reward!  I know these stocks look like they're going to creep up, because oil's up, but I'm not a buyer.  I like First Solar (FSLR), I like SunPower (SPWR) a little bit... I like Applied Materials (AMAT) on their machines they make that are solar.

WM

3.90

na

Washington Mutual (WM)

WM -  I've got to tell you... if Kerry Killinger (CEO) were to take a leave of absence... maybe a permanent vacation... he's certainly taking a permanent intellectual vacation... I mean, maybe the stock would go up, and it would give you a chance to sell it... but the fact that this guy's still running the bank... Memo to the FDIC.. will you please step in already?...  I cannot tell anyone in their right mind to buy WM, given the fact that I think, even though they've got one of the greatest deposit bank bases in the world, is one of the absolute worst-run companies that I have ever seen.

Thumbs down - indicates he has said not to buy or to sell the stock, based on his comments  We do our best to interpret Jim's opinion on stocks, as we think it is indicated by his comments during the show.  Please read his comments to decide for yourself.

Back up the truck - indicated by Jim, when he says the stock is so good, that he would do a 'mon-back' on the stock... In other words, this is the sound someone would say to a truck driver, "Come on back... " as he is "backing up the truck" to load up on his cargo.  Translation for buying stocks:  This recommendation by Jim indicates that, after you do your own homework on the stock, you should feel comfortable loading up on it, as it is in a good position to be bought at this point.

Stumped. - Of the 2,000+ stocks that Jim Cramer has in his head, for which he has an informed opinion, he sometimes comes across a caller with a stock he does not know well enough to opine on...  He then indicates he is stumped and will have to come back to it, after he does some homework of his own on the stock.  This usually occurs during the Lightning Round, when Jim does not know in advance who is calling, or what their stock question is about.

Definitions of key phrases used by Jim, known as "Cramerisms":

Definition:   'Pull the trigger' is Jim's phrase for making the decision at that point to trade - either to 'buy' or to 'sell' (although he usually uses the phrase for buying), as if to say you should feel comfortable enough to make the final decision without looking back...

Definition:   'Ring the Register' is Jim's phrase for selling a stock, and making it a final sale, that you should not look back on.  Put it behind you.

Definition:  'Let It Come In' indicates how you may wait for it to pull back, or have the stock price come down briefly, as your chance (after letting it come in) to buy the rest of your position (i.e., total number of shares you own in that stock).

Definition:  'backing it up' or 'doing a 'mon-back' is Jim's phrase for the metaphor of backing up a truck to load up on a stock by buying it.  'Mon-back is short for the imaginary worker saying, 'Come on back...' as the truck is backing up to receive its load... Notice that we use the little truck icon to indicate where Jim has mentioned this.  Translation for buying stocks:  This recommendation by Jim indicates that, after you do your own homework on the stock, you should feel comfortable loading up on it, as it is in a good position to be bought at this point.
