General question...
Q: Cramer,
After seeing my 401K and IRA drop more than 50% in February, I decided to take matters into my own hands. Now, thanks to you (and Alan Mulally), I’m up 122% since the bottom in March. I know I can’t expect returns like this forever, but how can I keep decent returns coming after this huge run?
Frank
Jim: Frank, look… I worked so hard on this darn book, it is about that, it is about
Getting
Back To Even.. it is about active portfolio management… it is about something that is truly, truly dissed way too often by the pros… you taking control… why is it wrong to advocate people taking control of their own money?… as far as I am concerned, every time I have ever given control to anybody… they have screwed me.

GameStop Corp. (GME)
Q: Hey Jim,
Booyah from Madison, Wisconsin! I’ve got some share of GameStop because I’m expecting holiday sales to be way up, especially with the release of Modern warfare 2 on November 11th. However, the stock’s been sinking for the past two weeks and I’m down almost 8%. Should I sell what I have, hold it, or buy more? Thanks for reading my question.
Alex
Jim: Alex, I have got to be honest, I have hated this stock for a long time… we do not have any big videos cycles… there is no new Rock Band, there is no Guitar Hero… there is absolutely nothing that is in the pipe… maybe Grand Theft, that could be the next one, take two… but that is still many quarters away… you do no have a winner.

General question...
Q: Jim,
Booyah from the Big Easy! I want to get your opinion on my theory of why the retail sales numbers are bogus. While out on a shopping trip, I noticed a lot of Christmas shoppers out (quite early for the holiday shopping season). I think this is a direct result of some of the sales that major retailers have going right now. My opinion is retailers are pulling customers forward from the holiday season and as a result will report less than stunning holiday numbers in the months to come. Do you agree with my theory?
Jamie
Jim: Jamie, you are completely and utterly flat out wrong… here is the deal, there is rarely if ever been such a shortage of inventory going into Christmas… I spend all of my time when I am not doing this stuff going into stores, checking with managers… it is incredible how little sale merchandise… everybody is lean because they thought the recession would continue.. it is going to be a bountiful holiday season for every retailer… we are going to get retail sales numbers… in a few days, retail earnings … the bears are going to be all over them… and then you pounce… Jamie, I hate to say it but you are using anecdotal evidence… I am doing empirical evidence… it always trumps the anecdotal… I have got to tell you… do not play it your way, you will lose money.
